SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Gov. Jon Huntsman has approved 14 candidates for the Utah State Board of Education.
There will be elections in seven districts in November. The candidates were recommended by a committee.

The candidates are:
District 1: Shelly Locke and Susie Campbell Ashilman
District 4: Dave Thomas and Chris L. Dallin
District 7: Randall A. Mackay and Leslie Brooks Castle
District 8: Janet Cannon and Trent Kaufman
District 11: Ted H. Heap and Dave Crandall
District 12: Mark Cluff and Carol A. Murphy
District 13: Kyle Bateman and C. Mark Openshaw
