CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — A Montana company will take over a Saratoga nursing home after its Utah-based parent company abandoned the facility earlier this month.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports that Health Management Services CEO and President Joe Rude told the Wyoming Department of Health Monday he reached a lease agreement with the nursing home's owner, Deseret Health Group.

Deseret is facing bankruptcy and stopped paying for food, medical supplies, wages and benefits at the nursing home and a sister facility in Rock Springs. A new management company was found for the Rock Springs facility.

Only 11 of 27 residents remain in Saratoga. The Wyoming Department of Health will be offering higher Medicaid reimbursement to Health Management Services while the company attempts to bolster the facility's numbers.
