PROVO, Utah (AP) -- The days of camping out for the best spots to watch the Fourth of July parade in Provo are over.
City officials say that for years people have arrived days in advance of the holiday, camping along the parade route, sometimes leaving behind trash and damaging property.
On Tuesday, the Municipal Council decided to prohibit people from setting up before 3 p.m. on July 3.
The change is good news to Lora Jean Campbell, who lives along the parade route. She says two years ago, someone staking out a spot damaged her sprinkler system.
She's also had strangers asking to use her bathroom and had her lawn damaged and littered with diapers and other trash.
