SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The financially ailing This is the Place Heritage Park will get an influx of state funds after meeting a requirement from the Legislature to restructure.

Park officials say they'll now get two-point-seven million in state money. Lawmakers included a bailout for the park in the final state budget this year after learning the 450-acre facility was near financial collapse.

But park administrators must also develop a long-term plan to become financially stable.

Park foundation chairman Ellis Ivory says the plan will likely include a request for increased annual state funds.

To meet the Legislature's restructuring requirement, park staffing was cut in half and operating costs were trimmed by closing some attractions.

But Ivory says he also had to raise 500-thousand dollars in private donations just to stay open this year.

Park admissions have dropped in recent years.
