(KSL News) South Jordan police arrested two people accused of a string of burglaries at schools across Salt Lake County.

Jason Clark and Karen Mathis were booked into jail on burlgary, theft, fraud and drug charges.

Someone saw the couple using a debit card to withdraw several hundred dollars at a credit union on Redwood Road and became suspicious when Mathis used cardboard to hide her license plate.

Turns out, that debit card had just been stolen from a local elementary school employee.

Police believe the couple stole from several schools in multiple cities. Police say they were carrying a page torn from a phone book, listing elementary schools. At least eight of the schools were checked off.
