BOSTON (AP) — The Red Sox have recalled outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. from Triple-A Pawtucket and optioned right-hander Steven Wright to the International League.

Bradley was hitting .315 in 18 games at Pawtucket before Tuesday's move. He batted .198 in 127 games for Boston last year.

Wright was recalled to the majors for the second time this season on Monday but he did not appear in the game against the Toronto Blue Jays. He began the year on the Boston roster and made one appearance, earning a win after allowing two runs in the final five innings of a 19-inning game against the New York Yankees.
