LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Nevada Gaming Commission member is stepping down after more than six years on the state's top casino regulatory body.
Joseph Brown said in a statement Thursday that he needs to focus on other commitments and professional obligations.
He says his decision to resign involved what he called some amount of regret.
Brown is an attorney and director at the Nevada law firm Fennemore Craig Jones Vargas.
He says he'll continue practicing government affairs and administrative law.
Commission Chairman Tony Alamo tells the Las Vegas Sun (http://bit.ly/1OOLP7m ) that Brown's hard work and dedication will be missed.
Gov. Brian Sandoval will appoint a replacement to the five-member board. Sandoval is a former commission member and chairman.
Other current board members are John Moran, Patricia Mulroy and Randolph Townsend.
