TAYLORSVILLE — Police arrested one of the men who allegedly robbed Family Dollar Store Tuesday.

Gary Grant, 44, was arrested at his home in Taylorsville without incident, according to Lt. Justin Hoyal with the Unified Police Department.

Grant and another man allegedly robbed an employee at the dollar store at 1649 W. 4200 South Monday morning.

The two men acted as if they were shopping by putting items in their cart, but while they were checking out, one of the men pulled out a hand gun and demanded the clerk open two safes. As the clerk opened the safes, the other man went to the front door and told some customers the store was closed, sending them away, Hoyal said.

The men allegedly took the clerk to the back of the door and tied him up, then fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

The clerk didn't sustain any injures. She untied herself and called for help, Hoyal said.

Grant was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion of aggravated robbery. Detectives are still looking for the second man.

If anyone has information regarding the identity of the other man, they are asked to call the UPD at 385-468-9814. Hoyal said he should be considered armed and dangerous.
