YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) — Eastern Michigan University is getting ready to host a major annual job fair for teachers.
It takes place Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bowen Field House. It's the 28th year that the Ypsilanti school is hosting the event.
More than 130 school districts, academies and education companies are registered to attend, including 58 employers from Michigan. Event manager Barbara Jones says there's been an increase in the number of school districts nationwide that want to participate.
The event is open to all teacher candidates, including students from other schools and Eastern Michigan alumni, who will have completed at least one semester of student teaching by this June. Candidates who have obtained a teaching certificate may also attend.
Interested candidates should register online.
