SALT LAKE CITY — Police have identified the man whose body was recovered from the Colorado River on Saturday afternoon.

Zachary Velasquez, 24, from Fruita, Colorado, was found dead after a search by the Grand County Sherrif’s Office, Grand County Search and Rescue, Mesa County (Colorado) Sheriff’s Office and others.

Grand County Sherriff Steven White said Velasquez’s death was not the result of foul play.

Velasquez’s body was found in the river south of Fish Ford and later sent to the state medical examiner.
