PARK CITY, Utah (AP) -- An Arizona mountain biker was killed in a spill while going down a difficult trail at Deer Valley Resort, Park City police said.
Tommy K. Crawford, 51, of Gilbert, Ariz., was biking Sunday with a friend on the Thieves Forest Trail, an expert-only trail, Sgt. Marty Howard said.
"He was coming down the hill, hit a spot that got kind of steep," Howard said. "It appears he went over the top of the handlebars and landed in front of the bike going downhill."
The accident occurred about 2:45 p.m.
Crawford was wearing a helmet and gloves. Emergency crews attempted CPR but could not revive Crawford, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, Howard said.
