CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (AP) — The grandmother of television host Ryan Seacrest has died at a Pennsylvania assisted-living facility. Virginia Glass was 91.

The Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home in Chambersburg said Glass died Friday. No cause of death was given. Her son, Gary, is Seacrest's father.

Fans posted condolence messages on Instagram photos Seacrest posted on Glass' 90th and 91st birthdays.

Seacrest appeared with Glass in a photo last June and wrote as a caption: "Nana ginny's bday 91 and rockin."

Glass graduated from Greencastle Antrim High School in 1941. She enjoyed golf and traveling.

A friend and former neighbor tells Glass' hometown newspaper, the Public Opinion (http://bit.ly/1AbWkuE ), she was tickled when Seacrest flew her to Los Angeles for an "American Idol" taping and showed her on TV.

Her family is asking that memorial donations be made to the Ryan Seacrest Foundation.

A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday.
