(KSL News) A developer planning to build in Sugar House says he just needs more time to get the project started.
Craig Mecham has asked Salt Lake City officials for a 40-day extension to complete demolition on the site located near 2100 South and Highland Drive.
He said he's still trying to negotiate with the owner of a neighboring building to settle issues with a common wall on the demolition site.
If the extension is not granted, the Salt Lake Tribune reports Mecham could lose his $20,000 landscaping bond held by the city.
