OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- Mayor Matthew Godfrey is looking at turning over the Mount Ogden Golf Course to a nonprofit organization.
Godfrey says the golf course loses about $250,000 annually. City golf course manager Todd Brenkman says the course attracts only about half the people needed for it to break even.
Brenkman says the problem is a poor design, narrow fairways and a lot of brush.
The city held a March open house to solicit taxpayer suggestions.
Some said the city should invest millions of dollars to improve the course. Others suggesting raising green fees or letting a nonprofit group take over. Godfrey plans to make a decision this year.
