ATLANTA (AP) — A relative of Bobby Brown hit her son in the head with a bottle during a fight at a birthday party for the entertainer in Atlanta, where his daughter is hospitalized, a police report says.

Officers responded to a call of a fight at the W Hotel in midtown just after midnight Friday, the report says. Shayne Brown told officers he and his mother, Tina Brown, were fighting about a valet parking ticket when his mother spit in his face and hit him on the head with a glass bottle, the report says.

One witness told police she saw Tina Brown spit in her son's face and heard a glass break, but she did not see a blow that would have caused a cut on Shayne Brown's forehead. Another witness said he saw Shayne Brown "swinging" on Tina Brown during the fight.

Shayne Brown told officers that his mother, who witnesses said also goes by Anita Brown, had left the scene and that he didn't want to file any charges against her.

Shayne Brown was treated at the scene by an ambulance crew and later drove himself to a hospital, the report says. Shayne Brown told officers he noticed scratches on his vehicle that were not present before the scuffle.

Police spokeswoman Kim Jones said the mother and son are related to Bobby Brown, but she did not know the nature of the relationship.

Bobby Brown, who turned 46 on Thursday, has been seen this week in Atlanta, where his daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown is hospitalized. The 21-year-old was found face down in a bathtub at her home just north of Atlanta on Jan. 31.
