SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Spencer Collins scored 11 points, Lee Skinner added 10 and Wofford held Mercer scoreless for the final six-plus minutes in a 49-46 win on Saturday night.

Stephon Jelks made a layup to cap an 8-0 run and give Mercer (12-11, 7-3 Southern Conference) a 46-42 lead with 6:49 remaining, but the Bears went scoreless the rest of the way, missing their final eight field goal attempts and committing three turnovers in the final 4:28.

A layup and a jumper by Collins tied the game with 2:41 left and Justin Gordon's 3-pointer with 1:09 to go gave Wofford (18-5, 9-1), which won its fifth in a row, a 49-46 lead.

Mercer, which led by as many as eight and took a 26-20 lead into halftime, missed three potential tying 3's in the final 16 seconds. Ike Nwamu led the Bears, who made just 8 of 26 (30.8 percent) second-half field goals, with 10 points.
