HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) — Brian Bernardi scored 23 points as Hofstra snapped a two-game losing streak with an 86-58 win over long-time rival Drexel Wednesday night.

Hofstra built an eight-point at halftime, but kicked its offense into a higher gear in the second half, outscoring Drexel 47-27 over the final 20 minutes.

The Pride (14-6, 5-2 Colonial Athletic Association) connected on 35 of 69 attempts from the field (50.7 percent), including 9 of 25 from distance while limiting Drexel to just 18 of 51 from the floor.

Bernardi was 8 of 12 from the field and connected on 6 of 10 from 3-point range. Juan'ya Green added 11 points and dished out 11 assists while Malik Nichols added 10 points and grabbed 10 boards.

Damion Lee was 13 of 13 from the free throw line and finished with 27 points to lead Drexel (4-14, 2-5).
