SALT LAKE CITY — LDS artist and YouTube sensation, Lindsey Stirling was recently named to Forbes’ 30 under 30 in Music for 2015.
The 30 under 30 list highlights Forbes’ picks for the biggest, rising artists and musicians who are under 30 years old, and 28-year-old Stirling — known as the “dancing violinist” — was named to this year’s list.
“I’m speechless! I was just picked as one of Forbes’ 30 under 30 in music for 2015! I’m going to call my mom, see ya,” Stirling said in a tweet after hearing the news.
Stirling became well-known for her choreographed YouTube videos featuring dub-step instrumental music and now has more than 5.8 million subscribers on YouTube, according to Forbes.
In 2010, Stirling was a quarter-finalist on season five of America’s Got Talent and has grown in popularity since with her second album, “Shatter Me,” reaching no. 2 on the Billboard 200, Forbes said.
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Stirling is also well-known among Utahns and recently spoke at an interactive online fireside to LDS youths.
