Columbia rallies to beat Hofstra 82-77

NEW YORK (AP) — Maodo Lo tied career highs with 29 points and seven 3-pointers, and Columbia beat Hofstra 82-77 on Saturday, ending the Pride's four-game winning streak.

The teams combined to attempt 59 3-pointers, making 21.

Steve Frankoski scored 14, including four 3s, Kyle Castlin scored 13, and Columbia (6-3) shot 37.1 percent (13-35) from beyond the arc to Hofstra's 33.3 percent (8-24).

Juan'ya Green scored 19 for the Pride (7-3), Ameen Tanksley and Dion Nesmith both scored 18, and Malik Nichols had 10.

Lo and Frankoski each hit back-to-back 3s and Columbia led 12-9. Hofstra's Brian Bernardi drained a 3 with 13 seconds left and Hofstra led 38-34 at halftime.

Columbia led 69-61 after Lo's 3 with 6:22 to play. Hofstra's Green made it 73-71 with a free throw at 2:15, but Castlin hit a layup and two free throws to put Columbia back in control 77-71 with 38 seconds left.
