North Texas holds off NAIA Langston 78-65

DENTON, Texas (AP) — Freshman Jeremy Combs scored a season-high 25 points and Jordan Williams added 20 and 11 rebounds as North Texas beat NAIA Langston 78-65 on Wednesday.

Combs was 11 of 15 from the field and scored 15 points in the final 7 minutes of the game. Williams was 8 of 14 to help him move into 14th place for career points in North Texas school history.

Colin Voss added 10 points and 10 rebounds for North Texas (5-4).

Langston was led by Curtis Jones with 25 points and Cameron Craig had 13.

North Texas led 34-23 at halftime after closing the half on a 19-6 run. But Langston held on and got within 40-37 after a Craig 3-pointer and a Jones free throw. Craig hit two free throws with 6:42 left to pull within 54-51, but Combs and Williams scored the next eight points to pull away.
