SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A truck driver accused of keeping women as sex slaves in his semi-trailer as he drove across the country is due in a Salt Lake City court today. A lawyer for Timothy Vafeades is expected to argue that police illegally searched his truck in Minnesota last year and the evidence found during the search should be thrown out.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) —Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker and city council members say they don't want the state's main prison inside the city limits. State officials want to move the prison out of Draper to make room for development. Two of four potential new sites are in Salt Lake City. City officials say the prison should stay in Draper.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Trial has been postponed for four men charged with riding their ATVs on off-limits federal land as a protest last May. The men were originally scheduled to stand trial for the Recapture Canyon protest on Dec. 22, but a judge has pushed that back to late March. All four men have pleaded not guilty.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The New Orleans Pelicans overcame a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit to beat the reeling Utah Jazz, 119-111 last night. The Pelicans' Anthony Davis returned from a chest injury and scored 31 points. Enes Kanter scored 29 points for Utah, which has lost three straight and 12 of 13.
