SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Utah State Office of Education says the state's high school graduation rate continued to climb in 2014, with the improvement driven in large part by minority students. The Utah graduation rate of 83 percent is up 2 percent over last year.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says he knows who's responsible for removing his name from an outdoor-recreation center at his alma mater in Utah. The Nevada Democrat told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that "right-wing wackos in Utah" were to blame. Reid's name was removed from Southern Utah University's Outdoor Engagement Center in August, several months after a group of Republicans met with the school president and made the request to remove it.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Prosecutors are appealing a federal judge's decision to reduce the sentence for a Brigham City doctor convicted of illegally prescribing painkillers. Judge Dee Benson originally sentenced Dewey MacKay to 20 years in 2011. He was released from prison Tuesday.

WASHINGTON (AP) — John Wall had 16 points, eight assists and six rebounds, and the Washington Wizards overcame a sluggish start last night to put away the slumping Utah Jazz, 93-84. Alec Burks scored 19 points, and Gordon Hayward had 16 for the Jazz, who have lost 11 of 12.
