LOGAN — A man pleaded guilty but mentally ill Tuesday to manufacturing and possessing child pornography at his Logan home.
William L. Larson, 38, of Logan was arrested Aug. 21 after officers received a search warrant and found child pornography stored on multiple devices in Larson’s home, police said. The Logan City Police Department was alerted to the porn possession after the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children discovered repeated activity of downloaded child porn at the Logan IP address in July.
Police also discovered that several images found in Larson’s home were of local children and it appeared that Larson had been babysitting some of them.
Larson pleaded guilty but mentally ill during his court hearing Tuesday, according to court documents. He was charged in connection with the sexual exploitation of a minor and possession of a controlled substance and could face one to 15 years in prison, the documents stated.
Larson has a sentencing date scheduled Feb. 10.
