PEOA, Summit County — At least two people have been arrested after approximately 50 shots were fired during a large party Sunday night, resulting in at least two injuries.
Manuel A. Pimentel Gonzalez, 23, was booked into the Summit County Jail for investigation of attempted murder, being a restricted person in possession of a gun and shooting in the direction of a person. Francisco Enrique Romero-Fuenmayor, 23, was arrested for investigation of being a restricted person in possession of a gun, shooting in the direction of a person and drug possession.
On Sunday, Summit County sheriff's deputies were called to a large residence in Peoa on nearly 450 acres of land that can be rented out for events.
The sheriff's office "was advised that there was a large party … and that there were approximately 50 shots heard from the location," according to a police booking affidavit. "When deputies arrived, they located over 300 people at the location with many of them leaving the area due to shots fired. During the initial investigation, deputies located over 29 casings at the location."
A total of 48 casings were eventually recovered, in addition to three bullets found lodged in vehicles, according to police.
Detectives reviewed surveillance video as part of their investigation.
"The video shows multiple adult males open fire in the direction of party guests with various types of handguns and submachine guns," a second arrest report states. "Multiple victims were identified who knew the shooters personally from past interactions and disputes."
At least two people were injured, including Pimentel, who was treated at a local hospital, the affidavit says. Police say he and Romero-Fuenmayor were identified in surveillance video.
Correction: The incident happened in Peoa, Summit County, according to police. An earlier version quoted a police affidavit that incorrectly listed the address of occurrence in Coalville.
