SALT LAKE CITY —A Utah-based creative agency called The Good Line is giving away an all-expense-paid international trip as part of their Wanderlust contest. Good Line co-founders Joseph LeBaron and Travis Pitcher say they launched the contest to celebrate and promote the work of local filmmakers and charities.
"We wanted to do something to give back," said Pitcher. "We've been so fortunate to work with the people that we've worked with and to grow the way we have. We want to return the favor by giving someone else the opportunity to grow as well."
Of course, if travel isn't your thing, there are other prizes available. Basically, the contest is broken into three categories, each with its own prize. According to LeBaron, "The prizes focus on three areas we are passionate about: filmmaking, travel and the nonprofit sector."
Aspiring filmmakers take note — the winner of the filmmaking category will walk away with a brand new Panasonic DMC-GH4 camera with lens. To enter, you'll need to create a short, original video. Later this year, a panel of judges will review the entries and award the camera.
The travel category of the contest also requires a short video entry. The chosen winner will join the creative team from The Good Line on one of their international adventures in 2015. The prize includes round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations and new travel gear. There's even a per diem to cover meals and outings. The trip destination hasn't yet been disclosed, but The Good Line regularly travels to unique locations such as India, Uganda, and Jamaica.
The goal of the Wanderlust contest's nonprofit category is to help spread the word about charitable organizations and other nonprofit enterprises. Entrants can share the story behind their cause, and the winner will get a custom video shot and edited for them by The Good Line.
If you're thinking of entering the contest, you'd better act fast. The last day to enter is December 16, 2014. You can get the details and rules by watching the contest announcement video.
