A different kind of vending machine is making its way to Utah schools. Although the exterior might look like a typical vending machine, it’s what’s kept inside that’s aimed at changing the way kids snack.
At first glance, the snacks inside appear to be typical vending machine finds. A closer look reveals the candy, chips and snack cakes have been modified. Instead of dispensing the phony treats, the machine dispenses funny messages that help educate kids about junk food.
Every three weeks the machine travels to a different location as part of Intermountain’s Live Well campaign to help educate kids about making healthier choices.
The Live Well Vending Machine is a free educational tool. If you are interested in having the vending machine with attitude visit your school, go to www.intermountainlivewell.org for more information.
