HOUSTON (AP) -- Brian Mullan had a goal and an assist to help the Houston Dynamo beat Real Salt Lake 2-1 on Saturday night.
Alejandro Moreno also scored for Houston (6-3-3).
After Real goalkeeper Scott Garlick stopped Ronald Cerritos' penalty kick in the 36th minute, Mullan scored off the rebound to give Houston a 1-0 lead. In the 83rd minute, Mullan set up Alejandro Moreno's goal with a crossing pass.
Jason Kreis scored for Salt Lake (3-7-2), converting a penalty kick in the 89th minute.
Houston played without leading scorer Brian Ching, and Salt Lake was missing Eddie Pope and Douglas Sequeira. All three are all playing in the World Cup in Germany.
