EUGENE, Oregon — A Park City man has been extradited to Oregon where he is accused of raping a 12-year-old girl nearly six years ago.

According to KOIN 6 in Eugene, police said they used DNA evidence to link Anthony Wayne Meredith, 22, to the 2008 crime.

According to the victim's account, a boy approached the girl, who was with two other girls at the time, and asked them to play hide-and-seek. While the victim was trying to hide, police said the boy’s brother, who was also present, pushed her to the ground and attacked her.

Meredith would have been 16 years old at the time of the alleged rape.

KOIN reports Meredith was arrested on Tuesday and is being held in jail for investigation of first- and second-degree rape and first- and second-degree sodomy.
