MIAMI (AP) — A person with knowledge of the agreement says that the Miss Universe pageant is coming to South Florida this winter.
Florida International University will host the pageant on Jan. 25, according to the person, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because no details were authorized to be released until a news conference Thursday.
Reigning Miss Universe Gabriela Isler is scheduled to attend the news conference, along with pageant owner Donald Trump.
The news conference is scheduled for Trump National Doral, the luxury resort in Doral, Florida, that will also host some pageant-related events.
This marks the third time a U.S. city has been chosen to host the pageant in a five-year span. Las Vegas hosted in 2010 and 2012.
