AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — Auburn coach Gus Malzahn says safety Jermaine Whitehead remains suspended.

Malzahn said Tuesday that "nothing's changed" in Whitehead's status. He says Whitehead won't be on the sidelines Saturday when the fifth-ranked Tigers face Louisiana Tech.

Auburn confirmed his suspension on the eve of the Tigers' game last Thursday night against Kansas State but hasn't said when Whitehead will return.

Josh Holsey is again listed as the starter after making a career-high 11 tackles against the Wildcats. Holsey has played both cornerback and safety during his career.

Whitehead started the past two years and had 12 tackles and two interceptions through two games.
