EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Chris Moller kicked a tie-breaking field goal late in the fourth quarter to give Morgan State a 38-35 victory over Howard on Saturday.
Moller's 38-yarder put the Bears (2-2, 1-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) back on top for good after the Bison scored a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter to tie the game 35-35 with just over 2 minutes to play.
Robert Council threw two touchdowns for the Bears and ran for a third. He was 13 of 22 for 168 yards passing. Herb Walker Jr. ran for 141 yards and two touchdowns.
With Howard trailing 35-21 in the fourth, Greg McGee scored from 4 yards out, capitalizing on a Morgan State fumble three plays earlier deep in Bears territory. William Parker followed with a 10-yard TD run, tying the score with 2:21 to play.
McGee threw for 229 yards and ran for three touchdowns for the Bison (1-3).
