PRICE — Two people were arrested after officers discovered a sophisticated forgery operation in a honeymoon suite, police said.

Officers responded to the suite at the Super 8 Motel, located at 180 Hospital Drive, after hotel management reported the registered guests had stayed past checkout time, according to the Price City Police Department. The incident occurred on Sept. 8.

Investigators said they observed the room in “complete disarray” when Rebecca Jimenez, 35, opened the door.

“Officers entered the room with Jimenez and allegedly discovered numerous suspicious items consistent with a sophisticated forgery operation in plain view,” a statement from police reads.

A man in the room was initially unresponsive and provided a false name and identification, according to police. He was later identified as 33-year-old Joshua Call of Salt Lake City, who had a $25,000 warrant out for possession of a dangerous weapon from the 3rd District Court.

"After obtaining a search warrant, police said they found 'dozens of quality forged Utah driver licenses, all with Call's photo but various names and numbers' in the room."

After obtaining a search warrant, police said they found “dozens of quality forged Utah driver licenses, all with Call’s photo but various names and numbers” in the room. They said some of the names were made up, while others were legitimate. Electronic items used for forgery were located, in addition to stolen and forged checks, “substantial” amounts of stolen mail and credit cards.

Investigators also found a 9mm handgun reported stolen out of West Valley City, 4.5 grams of methamphetamine, 1.4 grams of cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and stolen and forged checks, according to police.

Call and Jimenez were arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of forgery equipment, possession of another person’s ID and theft of a stolen firearm, according to police. They were booked into the Carbon County Jail.

Call has a long criminal history with 25 previous arrests, police said. Previous convictions include drug possession, domestic violence incidents and forgery.

Those who think they may be a victim of thefts related to this case should contact their local law enforcement agency and reference Price City case number 20141208, according to police. They said mail and other items were stolen from areas near Price as well as further north in Utah.

The incident is still under investigation.
