SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Zion National Park has reopened after closing for several hours yesterday when heavy rain and a surging river made park routes impassable. The park closed at midday after runoff from high canyon walls flooded some stretches of roads while the rising river blocked other areas in narrow canyons. Zion is Utah's most-visited national park.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Utah author says a schoolteacher plagiarized her Christian romance novel, added graphic sex scenes and passed it off as her own. Rachel Ann Nunes (NOON'-esh), author of "A Bid for Love," filed a federal lawsuit in August against Tiffanie Rushton, a third-grade teacher in Layton who wrote an electronic book called "The Auction Deal."

OGDEN, Utah (AP) — The city of Ogden is providing free wireless internet throughout its downtown area. Ogden IT manager Andy Lefgren says the WiFi network offers citizens Internet access that's four times faster than most homes.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Descendants of both the victims and the perpetrators of the 1857 Mountain Meadows Massacre are unveiling a quilt memorializing the victims in St. George today. The quilt is designed to honor the approximately 120 California-bound pioneers killed by Mormon militiamen in southern Utah.
