WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — A psychologist who's written best-selling books about the intelligence of dogs will discuss his research into canine smarts during a lecture at Purdue University.
Stanley Coren is scheduled to deliver a lecture Tuesday night titled "How Intelligent are Dogs?" at the Stewart Center's Fowler Hall on Purdue's West Lafayette campus.
Coren will be introduced by Alan Beck, who's the director of the Purdue Veterinary Medicine Center for the Human-Animal Bond.
Tuesday's free lecture will be followed by a book-signing.
Coren is a researcher and professor emeritus of psychology at the University of British Columbia. He's written several books about the intelligence, mental abilities and history of dogs, including "Why We Love the Dogs We Do" and a children's book called "Why do Dogs Have Wet Noses?"
