SALT LAKE CITY — An inventive grandfather built a toy for his family that neighbors are sure to be envious of — a working hovercraft.
YouTube user VideoPapa posted a video of his son and grandson showing off what the hovercraft can do Thursday. He said he used a 4-foot polystyrene insulation board as a base and a leaf blower to supply the lift.
“After a couple trips to the home center I came up with a rough idea of what I wanted to do and then built it on the fly. No pun intended,” the hoverboard creator wrote on Reddit, under the username “icehole.”
The hovercraft can even lift its 210-pound creator, according to his post on Reddit. He uploaded pictures of how the hovercraft was made to Imgur.
