BALTIMORE (AP) — Morgan State University in Maryland says a football player who was hospitalized after a workout two weeks ago has died.
Television station WBFF-TV (http://bit.ly/1t4HSVZ ) first reported that 18-year-old Marquese Meadow died Sunday.
Morgan State University spokesman Clint Coleman confirmed the death. He told The Associated Press that Meadow had been hospitalized since becoming disoriented during the workout two weeks ago. Coleman says Meadow had recently been improving but took a turn for the worse Saturday.
A freshman defensive lineman, Meadow was from Washington, D.C. Funeral plans have not yet been announced.
