BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho's employee health insurance plans are comparable to the federal government's most expensive option offered under the Affordable Care Act. A report from the Pew Charitable Trusts shows Idaho covers 93 percent of all medical costs for state employees. Most Idaho residents who buy federal plans on the state's health insurance exchange purchase less expensive options that cover 70 percent of medical costs.

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — An eastern Idaho man attempting to take off in a helicopter from his backyard with his wife and daughter aboard lost control and crashed. The Bonneville County Sheriff's Office says pilot Dave Hansen and his family were able to get out of the helicopter and didn't require medical attention. The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.

COUNCIL, Idaho (AP) — A northern Idaho man reported missing for a week has been found dead. An Idaho Power crew traveling a rarely used road found 78-year-old Bill Summers of Council inside his crashed pickup about 10 miles from his home on Sunday. Summers is the brother-in-law of former U.S. Sen. Larry Craig. Craig says the men who found him reported very little damage to the pickup.

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — A southeastern Idaho woman police say shot a .45-caliber pistol into the air while in a bedroom with a 5-year-old girl has been taken into custody. Police say the Idaho Falls woman discharged a round into the air and answered the door when police arrived. It's unclear if she has an attorney.
