VERNAL, Utah (AP) -- The Ashley National Forest is taking applications for six Whiterocks Cave tours.
The free tours are scheduled two a day on Sept. 6, 13 and 20. Tours are limited to 10 people each.
The tour reservations are selected via a lottery system.
An application for a reservation must be received before June 1 at the Vernal Ranger District.
The Forest Service says participants must be at least 9 years old and in good physical shape.
Early exploration of the cave turned up a human skeleton. Nowadays, it has about 1,100 feet of mapped passages.
