SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- "Tax Freedom Day" in Utah arrives next week, 111 days into the new year. The day marks when a typical taxpayer has earned enough to pay for all their annual federal, state and local taxes.

Utah's Tax Freedom Day on April 21 is two days earlier than national Tax Freedom Day. The national observance is three days earlier than usual this year because of scheduled economic stimulus rebate.

Tax Foundation President Scott Hodge says Americans this year will spend more on taxes than on food, clothing and housing combined.

An average American this year must work 74 days to afford federal taxes and 39 more days to pay local and state taxes.
