SOUTH SALT LAKE — A water main break caused a gas leak in South Salt Lake on Saturday.

South Salt Lake Fire Deputy Chief Kevin Bowman confirmed that a water main break caused a gas leak Saturday. Crews hit a gas line with a tractor while fixing the water main, Bowman said.

Businesses on the north side of 3300 South from 300 West to West Temple were evacuated due to the leak, and a portion of 3300 South was closed as well. All lanes of traffic have since reopened.
