SALT LAKE CITY — Sixteen elementary school girls left school Tuesday with a lot less hair than when they came.
Don’t worry — it was all for a good cause.
The students, who ranged from second to sixth grade at Foothill Elementary School, had 10 inches of hair chopped off to donate to the cancer charity Locks of Love.
“Every year getting more girls that are donating, so that just means more of them are seeing the good reason to do it,” said Dawn Opie, a teacher at Foothill Elementary.
