TORONTO (AP) — The Toronto Blue Jays have put infielder Brett Lawrie on the 15-day disabled list because of a broken right index finger.
Lawrie is expected to miss three to six weeks.
Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista was out of the starting lineup Monday night against the Yankees because of a mild strain to his left hamstring. He says he doesn't expect the injury will send him to the DL.
The Blue Jays optioned catcher Erik Kratz to Triple-A Buffalo and recalled outfielders Anthony Gose and Kevin Pillar from Triple-A.
Lawrie left Sunday's game in Cincinnati after being hit by a pitch from Johnny Cueto. He is batting .244 with 12 homers and 38 RBIs.
Bautista also left Sunday's game and had an MRI on Monday. He is hitting .305 with 15 homers and 49 RBIs.
Bautista said there's a chance he could pinch-hit in the three-game series against New York.
"We lucked out there," Toronto manager John Gibbons said. "Hopefully it's just a couple of days."
