OGDEN — A 49-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle accident Monday.

Just after 11 a.m., a man on a Honda Shadow motorcycle was riding on state Route 79 in Ogden when a 1985 Mercedes made a left turn right onto Pennsylvania Ave. in front of him, said Ogden Police Lt. Scott Conley.

The motorcycle rider laid his bike down to try and avoid directly running into the vehicle, slid between 75 and 80 feet and collided with the car, Conley said. The man was wearing a helmet but died at the scene from his injuries. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the Mercedes, a 31-year-old man from Davis County, was not immediately cited. Conley said the investigation is continuing.
