Chris Kaye reportingSeveral race teams have already been testing at the new Miller Motorsports Park, and nearby residents are already complaining about the noise.
Team Penske in the American Le Mans series visited Tooele County to test at the New Miller Motorsports Park. Former G-T Class Champion Timo Berhard says he's very impressed.
Timo Berhard: "It's a long track and we don't usually the when they build new tracks they try to do it smaller ya know, maybe to have to give the fans a better view but this is like a something not usual at the moment so that is why we all like it."
Bernhard says the track has something for every driver. He'll be returning with the rest of team Penske in July for the Utah Grand Prix.
However, some residents in Erda are not happy with their new neighbor.
"It's awful noisy."
Tooele County planning and economic advisor Nicole Cline says the noise ordinance allows for up to 90-decibals at the track's property line.
Nicole Cline: "They can race or create the greatest amount of noise seven am to ten pm."
But, nearby homeowners say that's too early.
"The announcing at seven o'clock in the morning, the motor cycles running at seven in the morning they are waking up my kids."
The county says they will be testing the noise at events this summer and trees can be planted around the track to buffer more of the sound.
