NEW YORK (AP) — Author Reza Aslan is working on a new book about God.

Aslan has a deal with Random House for a book about how views of God have changed across faith traditions over time. The book is titled "The Story of God" and will look at how prophetic figures and others have shaped humans' relationship with God.

The deal was announced Friday. No release date has been set.

Aslan is the author of the best-seller "Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth" and teaches creative writing at the University of California-Riverside.

He became an Internet sensation last year after a Fox News interview during which he was repeatedly asked why a Muslim would write a book on Jesus. Aslan emigrated from Iran to the United States as a boy.
