Nevada foreclosure rate drops to No. 3 in US

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada's foreclosure rate was third in the nation in February after falling behind Florida and Maryland in the rankings.

RealtyTrac statistics released Thursday show 1,850 foreclosure filings in February, or one for every 633 homes in Nevada.

The rate is down 16 percent from January, and down 49 percent from the same time a year ago.

Florida posted the nation's highest foreclosure rate in February, with Maryland coming in second.
