SALT LAKE CITY — Junior transfer Delon Wright has made quite the name for himself in his first season with the Utes, leading the team to its first 20-win season in four years. On Monday, the Pac-12 named Wright to the First Team All-Pac-12 and the All-Defensive team.

Wright, who averaged 16.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 2.6 steals per game, is the first Ute to receive first team or all-defensive honors from the Pac-12. Wright scored in double figures in the last 18 games of the season, with Utah 7-1 when he scores seven field goals or more.

He lead the conference in steals and was in the top 15 in assists (third), field goal percentage (third), assist/turnover ratio (fourth), blocks (sixth), scoring (seventh) free throw percentage (ninth) and rebounds (12th).

Wright joins Jordan Adams (UCLA), Kyle Anderson (UCLA), Jahii Carson (Arizona State), Justin Cobbs (Cal), Aaron Gordon (Arizona), Nick Johnson (Arizona), Dwight Powell (Stanford), Chasson Randle (Stanford) and Josh Scott (Colorado) for the First Team All-Pac-12.

Wright joins Jordan Bachynski (Arizona State), Josh Huestis (Stanford), Nick Johnson (Arizona) and T.J. McConnell (Arizona) for the All-Defensive team.

The Pac-12 named Arizona’s Nick Johnson as the Player of the Year, Arizona’s Aaron Gordon as the Freshman of the Year, Arizona State’s Jordan Bachynski as the Defensive Player of the Year and Arizona head coach Sean Miller as the John Wooden Coach of the Year.

The awards are voted upon by the coaches of the Pac-12. No coach can vote for himself or for one of his players.
