LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) — The Chicago Bears have agreed to one-year contracts with defensive tackle Nate Collins and backup quarterback Jordan Palmer.

Collins appeared in five games last season and made two starts before suffering a season-ending knee injury. He had a career-high 13 tackles. Collins is entering his fifth season in the NFL and third with the Bears.

Palmer signed with Chicago in 2013 and spent the last nine weeks on the active roster, but he did not play in a regular-season game. He made two preseason appearances.

The Bears announced the moves Sunday night.
