GUILDERLAND, N.Y. (AP) — Conference Player of the Year Jameel Warney scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds as No. 2 Stony Brook crushed seventh-seeded Maine 80-54 in the America East tournament quarterfinals Saturday.

Carson Puriefoy added 14 points on 5 of 11 shooting for the Seawolves (22-9), who advance to face the winner of the Binghamton-Hartford quarterfinal.

Xavier Pollard had 11 points before fouling out with 10:25 remaining for the Black Bears (6-23), while Troy Reid-Knight scored 10.

Maine, which came in averaging a league-best 72.8 points per game and 45 percent shooting, shot a season-low 31 percent from the field, including just 3 of 19 from 3-point range.

Behind a 19-2 spurt midway through the first half, Stony Brook headed into the break up 49-25. With its eighth-straight win over Maine, Stony Brook advanced to the conference semis for the fifth year in a row.
