OREM, Utah (AP) — A Utah city has decided not to file charges against a store for putting risque T-shirts in its display windows at a mall.
The decision by officials in Orem, about 40 miles south of Salt Lake City, came three weeks after resident Judy Cox bought every last one after seeing some in the window of a PacSun store.
The shirts featured pictures of scantily dressed models in provocative poses.
City Manager Jamie Davidson told Provo's Daily Herald (http://bit.ly/1fTX1NT ) courts have ruled in similar cases that while such displays may be deemed "morally objectionable," they are not illegal.
The decision came after Cox filed a complaint with the Orem Department of Public Safety.
Cox bought all 19 T-shirts in stock for a total of $567, saying the images on the shirts were offensive to the community's standards.
